Valentines Day Trip

It’s Valentine’s Day, and love is in the air no matter who you’re celebrating with! This year, spend some time with your loved ones and treat yourself to a day out! Whether you’re spending your time with a significant other, your girlfriends, or want a night out to celebrate yourself! We’ve curated the perfect Valentine’s day trips for anyone to enjoy. You can even mix and match excursions from different trips to make it your own.

Couples day-trip

Start your morning by checking into the Cara Hotel, tucked away at the bottom of Griffith Park. The hotel celebrates the Southern Californian lifestyle with open-air patios, palm trees, and white linens. Rooms are elegantly furnished, with light oak flooring and classic photographs of LA.

Once checked in, make your way to the National History Museum of Los Angeles to admire their new ‘Brilliance’ exhibit. This collaboration with jeweler Robert Procop is only on display until February 21st and features gems, sparkling jewelry pieces, and the largest green diamond in the world! If you’re lucky, maybe your significant other will buy you your own piece of jewelry after the exhibit!

For lunch, enjoy a scenic drive on the PCH towards Malibu for a meal at Malibu Farm Restaurant. The ambiance is unbeatable, with views of the Pacific Ocean and surfers enjoying the waves. Share with your choice of salad or flatbread, and then enjoy a larger plate such as roast chicken or lobster mac & cheese.

For the perfect end to your Valentine’s Day, watch the sunset and enjoy the view from Griffith Observatory. Head back to the hotel for dinner & a romantic night at the Cara Hotel!

Galentines

Valentine’s Day is about celebrating love all around, so spend a day with your girlfriends and enjoy a Galentine’s Day!

Start your morning with Poppy & Rose, a California-inspired brunch restaurant located in downtown Los Angeles. This casual sit-down is set in a floral-inspired ambiance, perfect for you and the girls! The menu features all American classics, such as chicken + waffles, eggs, french toast, and shrimp & grits. Opt for the acai bowl, greek yogurt parfait, or avocado toast for a lighter option. If you want to go the extra mile in celebrating, enjoy the ‘Galentines’ brunch option. For $60, you can treat your bestie to their choice of entree, bottomless mimosas, and a gorgeous bouquet!

Next, head over to Orly Color Labs for a group appointment to DIY your own nail polish color! Orly offers in-person labs for groups of up to four people to help you create your very own custom nail color. There’s no better way to treat yourself than to create your own perfect shade!

Make your way to Ester’s for a wine tasting for an afternoon pick-me-up. The menu celebrates French bistro classics while utilizing fresh Californian ingredients. Snack on charcuterie boards or choose a sandwich, soup, or salad meal. The chic location is the perfect place to enjoy time with your girlfriends and celebrate your friendships!

If you’re up to going out after a busy day, head to your favorite bar or nightclub to finish the day out with your girls! If you’d instead head home, then relax and put on a movie to enjoy with your friends.

Singles night out

Last but certainly not least, our singles night out day trip is curated for those who just want to get out of the house and have fun!

A stop that we’re featuring is the Breakup Bar on Melrose, the ultimate single’s destination for V Day! The bar features an 8-foot wall art exhibit with relics of a Valentine’s Day past. Classic breakup movies of new and old are also screened on a large projector every night. The menu does not disappoint, with themed cocktails, champagne, cakes, cookies, or charcuterie! The names of the drinks are sure to entertain, such as the “Tears of My Ex,” “I Dealt With Your Parents For Years,” or “Single Sangria”!

Another fun pop-up happening is the Broken Hearts Circus at Angel City Brewery on February 19th. This celebration features aerialists, jugglers, tarot card readers, and stilt-walkers. Specialty ‘Broken-Heart’ slushies and flights will be offered, as well as candies that pair with the drinks!

If you want some time to yourself during the day, check out the Love Blossoms event at One Colorado, where you can make your own bouquet to show your love this Valentine’s Day! On February 19th, you can also check out the ‘Love YourSELF’ event, where you can enjoy a complimentary yoga class and brunch afterward at Sage Vegan Bistro! Each guest will also receive a welcome juice or smoothie + a booklet with Sage discounts and promotions. There’s no reason not to have fun this Valentine’s Day. Spend it alone celebrating yourself!
